Exergi Predictive Awarded Navy Phase II SBIR
Hugo, MN – June 8, 2026 – Exergi Predictive LLC, a leader in predictive energy management and analytics solutions, today announced it has been awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract by the U.S. Navy under Topic N243-105, Compatibility of Tier 4 Diesel Engines with JP-8.
The project addresses a critical operational challenge for Navy expeditionary forces, which require equipment capable of operating on JP-8 as the Department of Defense’s standard expeditionary fuel. Current Tier 4 diesel engines are designed to operate on ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD), creating compatibility challenges when operating on JP-8 in expeditionary environments.
Building upon the successful completion of Phase I, Exergi Predictive will continue developing and demonstrating technologies that support the use of modern commercial-off-the-shelf Tier 4 diesel equipment in expeditionary operations while maintaining operational performance and reducing sustainment challenges. The effort aligns with Navy objectives to improve logistics flexibility, enhance readiness, and expand access to modern diesel-powered equipment for deployed forces.
“This award validates our team’s commitment to solving complex energy and sustainment challenges facing today’s military operators,” said Will Northrop, Chief Executive Officer of Exergi Predictive. “We are honored to continue supporting the Navy’s mission by developing innovative technologies that improve operational flexibility, simplify logistics, and strengthen mission readiness.”
The technology has potential applications across the Department of Defense and other sectors requiring reliable operation in challenging fuel and operating environments.
